Ranjana – had an intense flirtation with knitting as a schoolgirl

No one knitted for me when I was growing up as I came from India and it wasn’t required.  I didn’t even understand woolly things until I got here.   Woolly things were bought in shops, everything we had up until then was cotton or silk.  I’m not even sure if my mum knew how to knit.
